I have a fair amount of experience building websites, but I have not ever used Weebly before. Learning the software was very easy and ergonomic. I was able to easily use my past experience with similar software as well as my shallow knowledge of HTML in order to create a functional and visually appealing website. Something I have always wanted to do is maintain a personal website regardless of my career. I believe websites are the modern days best business card.
Working with Diigo has been exceptionally mind opening with its tools for researching. It has allowed me to organize sources for not only classes but also projects individually. I have yet to use it in this way yet, but I believe that a group research project would be the greatest way to maximize the use of all of Diigo’s features. I will likely continue to use this extension through the remainder of my education at least.
Teachers today are not only responsible for teaching students ‘core’ education standards but also for ensuring their students are technologically literate. In order to do this, teachers are required to stay informed and updated on emerging technologies. Teachers have many resources to them such as journals and websites. I have included here an example of one of the websites which introduces emerging technologies in the classroom.
