Blog Journal 10

As a teacher I would collect information through data collection tools in order to better gauge their classrooms understanding on a subject matter. A simple poll that students would be able to participate in will maintain the attention of the students. Polls can also be used in order to do anonymous polls or quizzes. The advantage of anonymity being students feel more comfortable answering how they feel versus how the class is answering. This creates a more accurate polling sample.

Through interacting with other classmates’ blogs, the most interesting thing to me is how common it is that my fellow classmates share the same opinion on a matter. This of course is not one hundred percent of the time. However, I do feel a majority of the time I am reading blog posts that I feel I relate to. This gives me the perspective that this is a positive result, that students are following the guidance of the course material in order to come to the same conclusions.

I think that a good resource to use that would be beneficial for us to learn, as well as be relatable to the data collection, is Kahoot. Kahoot is a tool that teachers often use in the classroom today in order to issue quizzes or maybe just polls. It is fun and easy to use in the classroom, I know first-hand it keeps students engaged, I think I would want to learn that next in this class, and if not perhaps on my own.
